ACCESS

(Assembly & Cabrillo Collaborating to Encourage Student Success)

Cabrillo Elementary School Collaboration

ACCESS Program Overview

The Assembly has a long history of periodically supporting Cabrillo Elementary School, which is located across Talbot Street from the Assembly Hall. Recently members discovered the population of our little neighborhood school has changed significantly, and so has the school needs. Along with our neighborhood children, there are many military families and children whose parents need the before and after school childcare. More than 40% of the families are considered low income (Title IX). There is no PTA or Foundation to provide outside support so Point Loma Assembly created ACCESS.

ACCESS, which stands for Assembly & Cabrillo Collaborating to Encourage Student Success, is a committee of Point Loma Assembly which acts as a liaison between the Assembly and the school. It is making a difference but more help is needed. Below is a list of current collaborations and needs.
